Garden Route
Canna Cup and Expo 2022
Author: Leon Meyer, Experience 420 and Megan Steyn, CBD Care The beautiful thing about Cannabis is that it unites people from all walks of life. Never before has one been able to experience more diversity than in the Cannabis community. No matter your status, religious or spiritual outlook, age, ethnicity, if you are male, female, binary or non-binary - it doesn’t matter – all are welcome when it comes to Cannabis.
This was shown yet again on the weekend of the Garden Route Canna Cup and Expo in Plettenberg bay. What a fantastic crowd there was, from the exhibitors, stall holders and attendees who travelled far and wide to be there, to the local community including the Bitou House of Rastafari who were beautifully representing in all their stunning regalia.

With the event being held at the Piesang Valley Community Hall, this wasn’t a corporate sponsored event but rather a community event showcasing the heart of an industry with key players present who came together to network and celebrate a budding industry. Events like this most certainly help drive and grow the cannabis industry – and as the saying goes - a rising tide lifts many.
With that being said, many thanks go out to all the folk that pulled together to make this an outstanding and most enjoyable event with special mention to:

Grow One Africa for providing a safe compliant consumption space – this was by far the most enjoyed area.
Thank you Dagga Farmacy for the beautiful displayed plants and to Qure for providing cannabinoid profile testing to those that brought their bud – this was the busiest stand by far.
Congratulations to all the Cup winners and especially to J Moller for winning the title of 2022 Garden Route’s greatest grower who won this year’s exquisite trophy made by the legendary local artist Malcolm Solomon. Well done to Mama G’s that won another title for best edibles, (15 titles all together now?) They received a prize from Green Grow Garden Route for 2 night’s stay at African Dawn Bird and Wildlife Sanctuary. Congratulations to Canna Central Pty Ltd that won a course from Cheeba Africa for the Best Concentrates category.
Many thanks to the sponsors that contributed fantastic prizes for the winners - Hydrobiz, Goodsmoke, Boveda, Umya Nutrients, Forest Roots, Aaptwak Foundation, Seeds of Hope, 420 Central, Cannacopia and CBD Care.

Thank you to the Canna Club for accommodating the judges that were able to attend the event in person - Chris Jay and Jeremy Acton. We also give thanks for our new female judges Sista Vee Nohombile & D’Nika Theron.
Thank you, Eden Balloons, for the décor, Lifetime Coffee and Garden of Dee-light for the most delicious food.

To Planet Savers for providing immense entertainment and laughter with their 110 second hanging bar challenge.

Thanks to The Shak for hosting the Meet and Greet on Saturday night and to Echo Gatherings for the Magic Garden Cannabis After Party on Sunday which was truly magical.
Overall a resounding success that could only have happened because of the people that came together and celebrated a plant that has earned the right to be loved, respected and praised.
See you next year for what is definitely going to be a bigger and brighter Garden Route Canna Cup and Expo 2023 – Leon Meyer Experience 420 and Megan Steyn, CBD Care
