Curing Anxiety Naturally
Author: Janis Theron Do you ever feel anxious? If so, you are experiencing a normal, natural human reaction to stress. Anxiety served a practical purpose in our ancestors' lives; it alerted them to danger, forced them to pay attention to the world around them and prepared them for danger. The causes may still be the same, but how we deal with anxiety today is a far cry far from back then. "I think that I cannot preserve my health and spirits, unless I spend four hours a day at least – and it is commonly more than that – sauntering through the woods and over the hills and fields, absolutely free from all worldly engagements."
Henry David Thoreau knew instinctively that nature cured all his worries. When he wrote his essay "Walking" about walking in nature in 1851, people were already disconnecting from nature and stoking the fires of anxiety.

A drive to work in traffic, a day at your desk on the computer, dealing with tired children - All these are anxiety-inducing stresses that often bring about the need for prescription medication for everyday issues such as pain management, insomnia, indigestion and fatigue. Curing anxiety unnaturally, is causing more anxiety.
Stress and Anxiety
In stressful situations, the body automatically produces and releases steroid hormones, cortisol and adrenaline and this is when we find ourselves in a fight or flight scenario.
Our threats are caused by our modern technological world - driven by smartphones, computers, and other technological devices, which means that curing anxiety now consumes the severely health-impacted global population daily. A pervasive, unhealthy, extreme fear and nervous state that now affects some 30% of all people worldwide.

This abnormal fear and anxiety can lead to incapacity brought on by the many anxiety-related disorders such as Generalised anxiety disorder (GAD), panic disorder (PD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) to name a few.
CBD Oil Heals
It is a fact that cannabis oil is one of the best natural cures for anxiety. Research evidence "strongly supports CBD as a treatment for a host of anxiety-related disorders when administered acutely."

CBD oil interacts with a brain receptor called CB1 and changes the serotonin signals. Serotonin is a chemical that originates in the gut and sends signals to the brain. Too little serotonin causes anxiety and depression.

Other natural supplements include magnesium, Vitamin D (or sunshine), Omega 3, B vitamins, L-theanine (an amino acid found in black and green teas), and plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables.

Exercise Outdoors, Connect, Sleep, Meditate
Exercise - Exploring nature is a great idea. During exercise, your body releases endorphins that communicate with your brain's receptors to increase pleasure and reduce pain. You feel euphoric after a good dose of exercise.
Connection - is a known stress reliever and anti-depressant - being with special people releases feel-good hormones, (oxytocin) in the body, which interact with the brain's pleasure centre.
Get enough sleep - insomnia creates anxiety, depression, and umpteen health issues.
Meditate - Sit with your stress, find a home for it, and accept the reason for it.

Your busy mind is the root cause of stress. Our thoughts are NOT US, and we need to understand this. Our appearance is NOT US either, and we need to realise this. Create mind and body awareness through meditating. Find an App that will assist you or join a group. Returning to nature is one way of naturally curing anxiety—walking in a forest, a beach run, or a mountain hike. Curing anxiety naturally is free, innovative and beautiful, and it is in your hands.
