CANNACOLLECTAKeagan MattisonTo understand NFTs, it is important to understand what is meant by “fungible”.
Fungible is derived from the Latin verb fungi, meaning to perform. In the broader context, this means interchangeable and relates to whether something can be exchanged. Content sold as NFTs can be created in many ways.
NFTs allow the owner of a limited work or collection to reach their audience directly. Whereas previously it was not possible to sell something like the first ever tweet, or a taco-themed gif, or indeed a piece of art online, now individuals, companies or cultural organisations can do so as long as they are the rightful owner. Some of the froth may have come off this year’s cryptocurrency rally, but crypto FOMO is finding new footing in a phenomenon that has left many scratching their heads in disbelief.
Crypto investors are spending tens of millions of dollars on digital art that only exists in the ether. From humble beginnings as a fringe hobby, the use of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) has become mainstream.
CannaCollecta™ is a producer and curator of limited edition and exclusive digital art in the form of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) for the global Cannabis community. Working with a carefully selected team of artists, coders, lawyers, influencers, and promoters, CannaCollecta™ aims to produce curated collections of ‘art-i-facts’ that reflect the cannabis community’s passion for the miracle plant, its people, and its history.

Since that initial connection with art, we are seeing NFTs being used in numerous other ways. Notably, many are being traded as collectables - and CannaCollecta™ have a series for the history books!

There’s no doubt that non-fungible tokens have become omnipresent. We can see how the new trend is penetrating multiple spheres and exerting a special influence on the sports, gaming, and art industries.

These days, celebrities and top companies the world over are joining the NFT boom, tokenizing and selling their unique collectibles and memorable moments. Paris Hilton, Shawn Mendes, and Lindsy Lohan are just some of the stars who have hopped on the bandwagon. CannaCollecta™ are next!
CannaCollecta™ launched its first series of collectable and exclusive, limited edition, curated Cannabis digital art produced as Non-Fungible Tokens (NFT) on the blockchain on Friday, 26th November 2021. Reflecting on the plant's spirited community, this initial collection called 'The Madness Collection' reflects the fear and scare tactics that struck the chords of society as prohibition propaganda first surfaced in the 1930s, with films like Reefer Madness — shouting words like 'Sin - Degradation - Vice - Insanity!'
A portion of sales from various collections will be donated to Fields Of Green For All, a South African activist and lobbying organization that seeks to make Cannabis available to all, in all its forms, and also the Last Prisoner Project in the USA who seek to liberate those still incarcerated for the crime of Cannabis possession or dealing, in support of their unconditional work in the Cannabis community.
CannaCollecta brings innovative and cool Cannabis Digital collectibles to the NFT space with their 9 incredible NFT's. Available now on Rarible.
